The camp experience has been fantastic from start to finish. The activities are fun, engaging, and offer a great variety that keeps the kids excited each day. What really stands out is how consistent everything has been—every day is well-organized and thoughtfully run. The camp counsellors are all incredibly attentive, patient, and genuinely know and care about each child. It’s clear the staff put a lot of effort into making this a safe, fun, and memorable camp experience. We couldn’t be happier with the wonderful experience!

We couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Discovery Land. The amount of care, love and fun our three kids had this summer, was indescribable. As a parent, it's really important to feel that your children are in good hands when you leave them for the day, and for us, we couldn't have felt more at ease than we did. We will absolutely be back!
Thank you, staff!!!

AMAZING CAMP!!!!
From start to finish, this camp was a remarkable journey filled with boundless energy, exciting destinations across the GTA, a meticulously organized schedule, and a team of phenomenal counselors.
Each day brought a new adventure, ensuring that the young participants were not only entertained but also enriched with unforgettable memories. The variety of places visited showcased the effort put into creating a diverse and captivating experience.
What information will parents receive before camp starts?
A few days before camp begins, families will receive a detailed camp information email including pick-up/drop-off procedures, the direct contact number for the Location Manager, weekly highlights, field trip days, Pizza Lunch Fridays, splash pad reminders, and any special theme or costume days.
What ages do you accept?
Discovery Land Camp is designed for children ages 5–12. Campers must be at least 5 years old and not turn 13 before the end of September.
Can my child be placed with a friend?
Yes! Friend requests are welcome for campers of similar age. Please include the request during registration, and we will do our best to place campers together. In cases of larger age differences, campers are typically placed with the younger age group.
My child is coming alone. Will they make friends?
Absolutely. We begin camp sessions with icebreakers, team games, and group activities designed to help campers connect quickly. Our staff actively support campers in building friendships and feeling included throughout the day.
Are there breaks during the day?
Yes. Campers have scheduled snack, lunch, water, and rest breaks built into the daily schedule to help them recharge between activities.
What should I pack for lunch and snacks?
Please send a nut-free lunch, several snacks, and a refillable water bottle each day. Camp activities are active and outdoors, so campers often build a big appetite. Staff regularly encourage hydration throughout the day.
Do you offer Pizza Lunch Fridays?
Yes! On Fridays, campers receive cheese or pepperoni pizza, juice, and snacks. Families only need to pack extra snacks and a water bottle on Pizza Fridays.
Is the camp nut-free?
Yes. Discovery Land Camp is a peanut and nut-aware camp. Please do not pack nuts in lunches or snacks. Parents should list all allergies during registration and provide any required emergency medication such as EpiPens.
How do you handle sun safety and hot weather?
Sun safety is part of our daily routine. Campers are reminded to wear hats, apply sunscreen, drink water frequently, and take breaks in shaded or indoor areas when needed. During extreme heat, activities are adjusted to prioritize comfort and safety, including water-based fun whenever possible.
Can I change camp weeks after registering?
Yes. Camp sessions may be changed at no extra cost, subject to availability.
What happens during rainy weather?
Camp runs rain or shine. We always prepare engaging indoor backup activities for rainy days and weather changes.
What if I need early pick-up?
Please notify us in advance whenever possible so staff can have your camper ready. Families will receive the direct contact number for their camp Location Manager before camp begins.
Can someone else pick up my child?
Yes. Authorized pick-up individuals must be listed on the registration form or approved through email or direct communication with the Location Manager. Photo ID may be requested for safety purposes.
What happens if my child becomes sick at camp?
If a camper becomes ill during the day, parents/guardians will be contacted for pick-up. Until then, staff will ensure the camper remains safe, supervised, and comfortable.
How do you keep campers safe on field trips?
Field trip safety is a major priority. We use professional bus companies, color-coded camper identification, structured group supervision, strategic staff placement, and continuous head counts throughout the trip. Staff are specifically trained in field trip safety procedures.
